Our adventure begins in Dakar, a vibrant capital city where tradition meets modern life. We will visit cultural and historical sights, such as The African Renaissance Monument and Gorée Island – the slave fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will explore The Museum of Black Civilizations and practice our bargaining skills at The Sandaga and Soumbédioune Markets – offering handmade statues, intricate jewelry, vibrant fabrics, and authentic crafts.
On our way to St. Louis, we will visit the town of Louga for a traditional African lunch with Ebony's family. Next, we will overnight in St. Louis, to experience its old-world charm, colorful architecture, and picturesque bridges that connect the city’s islands. A highlight of our time here will be a traditional Naming Ceremony and touring the city in horse driven carriages.
We’ll conclude our journey in Saly, a coastal paradise known for its golden beaches and tranquil atmosphere. We will enjoy a safari at the Bandia Wildlife Reserve, and explore the reserve in 4x4 trucks on the lookout for such animals like giraffes, zebras, and monkeys.
Saly is the perfect place to unwind, reflect while hanging out on the gorgeous beaches, and celebrate our shared experiences — a magical ending to an unforgettable trip.
